Responding to Natural Disasters
The Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina reacts immediately to serve victims of hurricanes and floods throughout the southeast without disrupting regular food distribution to 34 counties in North Carolina. In the event of a flood or hurricane, The America's Second Harvest Network of food banks activates its Disaster Assistance Team and works in conjunction with the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Red Cross to provide disaster relief supplies to victims of the recent hurricanes. The Food Bank's Logistics and Operations team works in tandem with this national effort to ensure that needed food and non-food essentials are collected and delivered to victims. Natural disasters create a desperate and long-term crisis for those affected. The Food Bank and other relief organizations throughout the country work as a team to bring help and comfort to people suffering the affects of these disasters. Please do everything you can to join this community of compassion. HOW THE FOOD BANK HELPSHOW YOU CAN HELP FOOD BANK DROP OFF LOCATIONS WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT DISASTER RELIEF OTHER WAYS TO HELP
